Long before the days of Airwave Notts Police vehicles were fitted with non-encrypted VHF radios operating around 100mhz on the FM scale - just left of what is Classic FM these days! This shows a VHF-UHF repeater set fitted to one of the M1 Traffic Cars in the 1980s. Also mounted in the facia is a VASCAR speed detection system.
