Not a zebra crossing....

Not an everyday scene even in those days. I wonder if the little girl ever thought of offering the police horse one of her paper-wrapped chips. That horse is standing perfectly, not even tethered or held by its rider!

Can anyone put a name to this Nottingham City officer (and his horse) and where this magnificent image was taken? The officer's high-collared tunic and first-aid badge on his left arm would suggest that the image is from the 1950s. Contact me if you can help.
