Federation Conference at Blackpool

In all my thirty years on the job I never went on a Federation Conference, despite being told what jolly fun they were. I thought you were actually supposed to go to the conference but I'm told that most Nottscops who took the bus ride there never actually made it into the conference hall. Can't be right, surely!
Anyway, I'm reliably informed that all these delegates actually made it into the hall at Blackpool on a date unkown after 1968,
