In the 1980s Nottinghamshire Police pioneered the Driver Rectification Scheme whereby motorists who had been ivolved in road accidents where they were at fault could elect to receive driver training in lieu of a carlesss driving conviction. (Does anybody know whatever happened with those courses? Do they still do them?) The photo shows Sgt Dave Saunders trying to instruct a member of the public played by Pc Chris Lewis. Chris Lewis left the force to become a clergyman.
