Thanks to Chris Akers (an ardent Notts County fan) "The photo is taken at the junction of CattleMarket Road and Incinerator Road. This end was and is always the end for the away-supporters who used to cross the road from left to right into the Cattle Market and board the buses home hopefully without incident i.e. an ambush by ‘home’ fans. Notts Co. fans were always well behaved so they must have been pretend ones!!! I do not have a clue what match it is but I would think judging by the clothing worn by officers it will be 80’s ish. I think the Dog Section input was removed around this time. One of the reasons being that when things got naughty the dogs did'nt always bite the right people – as I found out several times but that is another story!!!!!
The first mounted officer is Pc Pete Kerry who has long since retired. The dog handler is Inspector Pete Joyce ."
