Nottingham City Police Lifesaving Team of 1966,proud winners of the Silver Truncheon. The silver truncheon was a coup for Notts as it was
regularly won by the Met who had a bigger pool of
swimmers to pick from.
Apparently the 'northern elimination' event was usually won
by The West Riding of Yorkshire team, so it was a double
celebration for winning through against all the odds.
