Biker Down!

Photographed on 22nd August 1998 at Wheatcrofts Island, an altercation between Nottingham Traffic motorcyclist Pc 1124 Steve Anderson and a member of the motoring public who had to fill in an interesting insurance claim form no doubt. Steve had been escorting coaches containing Coventry city football fans from the City Ground. Nowadays, with no motorcycle section, it is up to coach drivers to find their own way out of the city in convoy.

The RTA was reported on by Sgt Frank Meylan of Nottingham Traffic Wing. The officer directing traffic in the photo was Pc 833 Hughie Fisher. Steve received a broken leg as a result of the accident and was off work for over a year.
