The Motorcycle Section says Goodbye
On 7th March 2002 The Motorcycle Section of Nottinghamshire Police was permanently disbanded. Based exclusively at the Traffic Wing on Shakespeare Street in Nottingham, the section had supplemented the work of the car drivers of the Traffic Department. These two photos were taken on 24th February 2002, just over a week before the section was disbanded. One shows the section and their machines paraded outside the Traffic Department on Shakespeare Street. Immediately afterwards the section rode to the Victoria Embankment for the spectacular shot which has echoes of the past - click HERE to see what I mean.
