Ground Floor of Nottingham Traffic Wing
Photo: Paul Woodward The ground-floor of the Traffic Wing was home to the Vehicle Examiners and was where the mobile cell-blocks were garaged alongside the car-wash. There were two entrances into the floor, both from Peachy Street. The big problem with the north entrance was that it's low headroom frequently claimed the Stem-lites on the Accident Tenders which were only supposed to go in through the east entrance in front of the carwash. Eventually, Arnold Workshops were so fed up of repairing the lites the Accident Tenders finished up without them, just having the normal blue beacon covering up the hole. |
