First Floor At Nottingham Traffic Wing

Photo:Bob Richards

The 1st floor of TD(N)Nottingham Traffic Wing which was where most traffic cars were garaged. It was accessed from Shakespeare Street from a gated ramp opposite Central Fire Station. The photo was taken during the night, hence the absence of any activity. The view is from the winding lane which ramped up to the top floor where the Central Vehicle Workshops were situated. The brightly-lit room left of centre is the Parade Room.
Cars featured in the photo are Cortinas and Granadas with the only Rover SD1 2600 that was allocated to TD(N).
The dark blue Granada to the right was used as an unmarked plain car and for supervisory duties.

The traffic wing was closed in 2001 and replaced by the new Roads Policing Wing at Riverside.
